Kale Tropical Green Smoothie

Today we’re making a drink that will serve you well in the hot summer sun — a refreshing (and healthy) kale smoothie. Here’s the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups chopped kale, stems removed
1/2 banana
1/2 cup chopped mango
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1 cup of orange juice (HealthQueens comment: instead of orange juice just use a bit more almond milk)
1 tbsp flaxseed
1/4 cup almond milk
optional: 1 scoop protein powder (as mentioned in this recipe variation)

EQUIPMENT:
Knife
Cutting board
Measuring cup
Measuring spoons

INGREDIENT PREP:
1. Cut and measure all fruit.
2. Wash kale very well.
3. De-stem and cut kale.

COOKING:
1. In the blender, add flaxseed first, then kale. Add fruits and drizzle juice and milk over the top.
2. Blend until smooth. If it seems too thick, add water.
