86 year-old Gymnast Johanna Quaas is a True Inspiration


Think you are too old for exercise? You might want to follow the example of 86-year-old German retiree Johanna Quaas. 

She will receive an entry in The Guinness Book of Records as oldest gymnast in the world.

In addition to Gymnastics she also goes running, and she regularly does yoga.

She said, as reported by DailyMail, that she had been born into a family of gymnasts and did the sport for a time as a child. She gave it up to get married and have children and then started it again in her Fifties. Her first competition was at the age of 56.

She says that she has stopped participating in regular competitions and now does gymnastics “just for fun”, MSNBC reported. Maybe it’s because there isn’t much competition in her age group. The only other athletes in the senior category are in their mid-70s.
