It’s just the exact products I’m personally using to help you save the trial & error of product testing yourself. Feel free to try other products and find out for yourself whichever is best for you.

How can I make it taste better?

There is several options to make it taste better:

1.) Add lime juice (cut 1-2 limes into quarters and squeeze them)

2.) Add herbs (herbs (think basil, mint or cilantro).

3.) Add spices spices (cayenne, ginger, cinnamon).

4.) Use sugar replacements like the ones that Eben mentions in his video.

5.) Put in a bit more fruit (but not too much). In general you want to put as little fruit as possible. Fruit makes your blood sugar spike and consequently makes you crash.

What’s the difference between blending and juicing?

Comparing blending with juicing is like comparing jogging with yoga. They’re both a form of exercise, they’re both very healthy, yet they’re as different as can be. To get the best health benefit you may want to use both. (source)

Juicing: The process of juicing extracts water and nutrients from produce and discards the indigestible fiber. Juicers filter out the pulp and skin, so all you get is pure juice.

Blending: Unlike juices, smoothies consist of the entire entire fruit or vegetable, skin and all and contain all of the fiber from the vegetables. A blender pulverizes vegetables and fruits, and makes for a thick, fiber-filled drink.

“If you’re looking for a nutrient boost in addition to your usual meals and snacks, then juicing is likely the way to go. But if you’re looking for a nutrient-packed meal replacement, you might do better with blended smoothies that provide a combination of produce, fiber, protein and healthful fats.” (source)

If you drink these shakes as the breakfast we recommend you do, then you might want to go with blending. The reason is that you get a “real meal” in terms of nutrition benefits.

Which blender should I get?

The first time I made the green shake I broke my blender. It definitely does put a lot of pressure on it. The best blenders are Vitamix and Blendtech, but it’s an investment that you only want to make once you are sure you are going to make the shake regularly. In that case it will definitely pay off. But for the beginning I’d recommend you just get a cheap blender.
Make sure you put in enough water: after you have put in all ingredients fill the blender up about 70-80% with water. Also with a cheap blender avoid putting ice cubes in, it could break the blender.

Try to drink your juice or smoothie straight away. After 15 minutes, light and air will destroy much of the nutrients. If you can’t drink it straight away, transfer to a dark airtight container until you’re ready. (source)

Drinking a green smoothie for breakfast every morning might be one of the most important things you can do for your health. Think of how much more energy, better health, better skin & hair you could have. Try it out and let us know how it is working for you!
